This new mystery thriller series is quickly climbing into Netflix's top 10.

Some shows have been on Netflix's Top 10 list for only four days; even more so if they've earned high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. This review aggregation site does not determine your own opinion, but it does give you a reliable indicator of whether a new series or movie is supported by professional critics. One example that is currently soaring on Netflix's trending list is the mystery thriller "Detective Deadboy."

The show was just added to the platform on April 25, along with the action movie "City Hunter." Although "Detective Deadboy" has only been on the streaming service for a short time, it has received positive reviews from critics and viewers around the world and has surpassed popular shows such as "Killing Eve," "The Up Show," and "Black Sails" in the top viewing figures. Currently (as of April 29), this new mystery thriller is in third place.

If you are on the fence about whether or not to watch this series, here's a quick rundown of what it's about and the general ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

"Detective Deadboy" was adapted by Neil Gaiman from the DC comic of the same name. It is also the world of "The Sandman," so expect to see more connections in future seasons.

This supernatural thriller series focuses on two teenage ghosts, Edwin (George Rexstrew) and Charles (Jaden Levri), as they solve the mysteries of the afterlife. They consider a murder case involving an evil witch and hell itself. These two ghostly best friends team up with a clairvoyant named Crystal Palace (Cassius Nelson) to restore some peace to a Pacific Northwest town.

Charles and Edwin, both ghosts because they were murdered, find comfort in each other when they realize they don't have to navigate the afterlife alone. Solving a supernatural crime also allows them to get to the bottom of their misfortune.

"Dead Boy Detectives" has received fairly positive reviews after only four days on Netflix; as of April 29, it had a Rotten Tomatoes score of 91% and has received mixed positive reviews from critics and audiences, but score could change as more people watch the series. At present, the audience score is 84%.

Liz Shannon Miller of Consequences says: "'Dead Boy Detectives' shows a new evolution of the old CW brand, offering something queer, funny, sad, and engaging (with the added bonus of visual effects that definitely feel like a step up (with the added bonus of visual effects that feel like a definite step up)."

Meanwhile, says Angie Han of The Hollywood Reporter: Despite its somber sound, "Dead Boy Detectives" is the furthest thing from dour. It is dark, to be sure, and at times bittersweet. But thanks to its charming and quirky lead cast and cheeky sense of humor, it is never less than entertaining."

Of course, not all critics will like the film. Katie Losinski of The Independent believes that "'Dead Boy Detectives' feels more like an amalgam of the bits and pieces that have worked so well for this streamer than a cohesive work."

Yes, if you want to watch something entertaining and fun, you should definitely stream "Dead Boy Detectives" on Netflix. This new mystery thriller plays the genre really well with supernatural subject matter, including ghosts, witches, phantoms, and mysterious figures lurking in the shadows.

Season two of this hit show has not yet been confirmed, but given the popularity of the "Sandman" universe, it is likely to be renewed. More seasons would also allow these different shows to connect in unique ways.
