New leaked images have been released showing the new larger sizes of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, rumored to be one of the biggest changes to the iPhone 16.

Leaker Sonny Dickson posted images of what appear to be dummies of all four models, including the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which Apple is expected to release later this year. And, conveniently, someone has drawn the size of each of these phones on top of each other.

The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are the same size as the iPhone 15 models they replace. However, the iPhone 16 Pro appears to be 0.2" larger than the iPhone 15 Pro at 6.3", up from 6.1". iPhone 16 Pro Max is similarly sized at 6.9", up from 6.7" for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

While Apple has made changes to the iPhone's exterior design over the years, including the Dynamic Island notch and the addition of action buttons, this size increase for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max establishes the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch literally the largest body change since the iPhone 12 series.

Users who prefer smaller phones will no doubt groan in frustration at the thought of the best iPhone of the year getting even bigger. However, while the larger body of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will make it slightly more difficult to carry in a pocket or bag, there are benefits.

The larger chassis will likely allow Apple to include other upgrades on both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, such as a 5x telephoto camera, which is currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The rumored upgrade of the ultra-wide camera sensor to a 48MP model and the battery size upgrade also seem to be dependent on these models having more internal space to accommodate more or larger components.

Other rumors about the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max can be found in their respective hubs. However, the only way to know what size the iPhone 16 will be is when Apple actually tells us its size. It will probably be in early September, which is the customary time for Apple to announce the iPhone.
