Google Brings Split Screen to Circle to Search on Pixel Devices

There has been a lot happening in the tech industry recently regarding AI. Perhaps one of the most popular AI-based features is Circle to Search. It first appeared on the Galaxy S24 series phones and later on Google's beloved Pixel series devices. Undoubtedly a popular feature, but not without its drawbacks.

One flaw, however, is slated to be fixed. According to a report from Android Authority, discovered by examining the Pixel Launcher app included with the recently released Android 15 Beta 1.2 update, Google is working on bringing split-screen support to Circle in Search Search. The release includes a flag that allows users to use this feature in split-screen mode, making it more useful.

This update is only for Pixel phones, as the limitation of Circle to Search in split screen does not seem to be an issue on Samsung Galaxy phones, which support advanced AI features. It seems odd that they would put a restriction that would prevent the use of Circle to Search, so it may be a bug that snuck in somewhere during development.

In any case, this has been a frustration for Pixel owners who want to use multiple apps while having a quick way to search for something on their phone; when Android 15 is released (expected to be in Q1 2024), all users will be able to use the phone's Circle to Search in split-screen mode.

In the meantime, if you can't wait to start using all the other features in Android 15, you can download a beta version of the operating system. Just be aware of possible problems downloading beta software to your device.
