One of the most precious NES games of all time may be coming to Nintendo Switch!

The Nintendos have a wide variety of games to choose from, from hot new releases to beloved classics. New classics that have been extremely difficult to find legal copies may be making their way to the platform. Nintendo World Championships NES Edition was rated by the ESRB.

X user @Stealth40k first found this listing on the ESRB website (via IGN). The game is rated "E for Everyone" and contains no objectionable content, unless you find Nintendo's classic games highly offensive.

Original Nintendo World Championship cartridges are hard to find. One is currently listed on eBay, where the seller is asking $175,000; only a few were made for the 1990 U.S. tournament. The cartridge featured difficult mini-games based on three popular games at the time: Super Mario Bros, RAD Racer, and Tetris.

It will be interesting to see if the actual value of the cartridge will be affected if an exact version of this game is released on the Switch. It could fall, as people would no longer need to purchase them to play legally (emulators will always be an option to play illegally). It could also soar if players want the real thing after trying it on the Switch.

Interestingly, however, at least from the ESRB's description, this does not appear to be a faithful reproduction of the original:

"This is a collection of 2D challenge and platformer games, with various modes (speedrun, survival, etc.) that players . to trudge through," the ESRB description reads. "Some challenges involve reaching specific points, while others involve defeating small enemies or surviving brief battles. Some games feature pixelated characters attacking enemies with tiny swords and arrows.

As Nintendo Life points out, this is very similar to the game NES Remix, which was released on Wii U and 3DS in 2013. While the game may be themed around the Nintendo World Championships, it does not actually include the original mini-games that were on the 1990 cartridge. It could also be a placeholder listing.
