iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Dummies Leaked - Cases Reveal Two Major Changes

The season of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro dummy leaks has arrived. The designs of the iPhones to be released this year have been revealed again, and case makers have had to respond.

An image posted on X by leaker Sonny Dixon appears to show the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max in matching cases. And besides the typical cutout for the camera on the case itself, there is also a strangely positioned cutout on the right side.

This appears to be a necessary element for user access to the "Capture" button, which is rumored to be a new feature on all iPhone 16s. It is also said that these buttons will not be physical, but rather pressure-sensitive capacitive buttons, which require a physical contraction of one of the fingers to operate. Therefore, it is not possible to cover these buttons with a case.

The capture buttons are believed to be located in the same location as the mmWave 5G antenna on current models. It is possible that this notch is purely for connectivity, and the rumors we have been hearing about the capture buttons are incorrect. Furthermore, as pointed out in the comments section of Dickson's post, there is no flash visible on the iPhone 16. This is an important factor that indicates that even if these cases are accurate in other respects, they are likely not the final product.

Another noticeable change in the iPhone 16 is visible through this dummy/case combination, which is useful for viewing with an AR/VR headset like the Vision Pro. [You can see all the previous rumors in the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max hubs. We will keep these updated until an announcement is expected this fall.
