Top 5 New Shows Available This Week on Netflix, Apple, TV and More (April 22-28)

This week, April also brings a slew of new programming on Netflix, Apple TV Plus and other streaming services, as well as on broadcast and cable television.

Leading the lineup of new programming this week is the documentary "Thank You, Good Night: The Bon Jovi Story," which chronicles the rock band's rise to global fame. Also making their first appearances are "Knuckles," a spin-off of "Sonic the Hedgehog," and "Detective Deadboy," a spin-off of "The Sandman." In addition, the offbeat comedy "The Big Door Prize" returns for a second season. The top new shows to watch this week include.

The quirky comedy with a unique setting returns as the morpho machine follows the residents of Deerfield as they prepare for the mysterious "Next Stage." Everyone's potential is exchanged for visions, new relationships are formed, and new questions are raised. [Dusty (Chris O'Dowd) and Cass (Gabriel Dennis) decide to separate for a while and live a new normal. Giorgio (Josh Segarra) and Izzy (Crystal Fox) each find romance, while Hannah (Ally Maki) and Father Ruben (Damon Gupton) try to discover the purpose of the machine that made the residents of their small town rethink everything they thought they knew about themselves.

The horror anthology will present its second season, subtitled "The Scare," featuring new characters and a different era. The story takes place in Los Angeles and takes place in 1991, decades after the events of season one.

LAPD detective Dawn Reeve (Deborah Ayorinde) is assigned to investigate the murder of a foster mother. As the city is in turmoil, Dawn is determined to identify and stop the killer. But as she gets closer to the truth, something evil strikes her and her family.

Best friends and ghosts, they solve paranormal mysteries with the help of clairvoyant Crystal (Cassius Nelson) and her friend Nico (Yuyu Kitamura). Their cases range from ghosts, missing children, and thieving demons.

Premiering on Netflix on Thursday, April 25 at 3 a.m. ET

This four-part documentary chronicles the rise and success of Jon Bon Jovi and his frontman in one of the most recognizable bands in history. All members of the band, past and present, fully cooperate with filmmaker Gotham Chopra to give unprecedented insight into the ups and downs of the past four decades.

In addition to interviews, the film also features previously unreleased personal photos and footage, unreleased early demos, and original lyrics. The film also delves into the past while also looking to the future as Bon Jovi struggles with a vocal injury that threatens everything he has built up to date.

Premieres on Hulu on Friday, April 26 at 12 a.m. ET

The latest installment in the cinematic universe of "Sonic the Hedgehog" takes place in 2022, between "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and the upcoming "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" The film will depict the events of the The film follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) of Echidna, who agrees to raise Wade Whipple (Adam Parry) as his apprentice and teach him the ways of the Echidna Warrior and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
