The iPhone 16 Pro design may use these four new glass colors

Courtesy of Weibo leaker Baby Baby Sauce (via ShrimpApplePro on X), more rumors have surfaced regarding color variations of the iPhone 16 Pro. What is new this time, however, is that these options will be available via color-infused matte-textured glass, as seen on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

Color-infused glass applies color to the entire material, not just the outer surface. It is also said to be more durable than ordinary glass due to an ion-exchange process. This is the technology associated with the chemical treatment used by Corning for the Gorilla Glass series of materials.

It is used in the iPhone 15, but not in the iPhone 15 Pro. If it were to be included in the iPhone 16 Pro, it would be a rare case where the Pro model would adopt what the base model has adopted. Usually, things like the 48MP main camera and Dynamic Island are the first things the Pro will adopt.

Baby Baby Sauce repeats the colors previously used on the iPhone 16 Pro: space black, white, gray, and a new pink/bronze "Rose" color. Previous leaks claimed that Desert Yellow and Cement Gray would also be an option, but could be mapped to the Gray and Rose options mentioned by BBS.

The color of the iPhone 16 itself is not yet known. We can speculate that the cheaper new iPhone will offer simpler and brighter shades than the Pro model, which generally looks more subdued, but other than that, and speculating on common iPhone color options such as black, pink, and blue, it is unknown.

The iPhone 16 Pro's color choices and rear glass makeup will likely be revealed to the world in September. But it's still a while away, so be sure to read our rumor hub as you count down the days.
