New Leaks Reveal All Four iPhone 16 Models - New Designs

New images posted on social media confirm the appearance of the iPhone 16 series, with a recent post to X by Sonny Dixon revealing four dummy units for each of the next-generation iPhone models, along with a redesigned camera bump and new Capture button are shown in detail.

One of the major changes appears to be that the Action button is now available on all devices, whereas it is currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pr and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The image also reveals a new capture button, which is located on the right side of the phone, below the power button. This capture button is reportedly a new mechanical key, but also includes a capacitive surface for zooming in and out gestures. [The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are slightly larger than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. iPhone 16 reportedly has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. This means that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will clearly be larger than rival models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra and OnePlus 12.

Perhaps the biggest visual change is that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature a vertical camera bump. We have heard some reports of this before, but its purpose seems to be to allow standard iPhone models to record spatial video for the Apple Vision Pro and other VR headsets. the exact specifications of the two cameras are unknown, but the 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera are believed to be on board. There are also reports that the front camera will remain a 12MP lens.

So far, the iPhone 16 lineup appears to be playing it relatively safe with regard to hardware, with relatively small physical differences from the iPhone 15 models that these will replace. However, Apple's big push for its next device will likely be AI to keep up with Samsung and other Android phone makers. The leaked benchmarks of the A18 Pro don't look that impressive, but presumably this will all be powered by the A18 series chips.

We have seen many leaks over the past few months that reveal the next-generation iPhone 16, including rendered images and dummy models. For the most part, they all show the same overall design changes, making this seem like a likely outcome. However, we can't say for sure yet until the official announcement. We expect the iPhone 16 series to be released in September 2024, but keep an eye on the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max hubs for any updates.
