Finally, despite being in Philadelphia, brotherly love is certainly out the window when it comes to Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams. The duo has been inseparable since the latter's debut in the fall of 2021 when he helped raid Duke Hudson. Ever since the Trick Melo Gang was introduced to the NXT Universe, they have had an electrifying element to them. From there, their popularity continued to grow as they racked up wins and championships. However, as Williams became as beloved as Hayes, cracks began to appear in their friendship. Although he denied it, it turned out that A Champion was responsible for that vicious attack that temporarily kept Williams from the world title. After a long and tumultuous road, the two former allies finally clashed, but without a title fight. Instead, this is the culmination of years of grudges that have built up over the years. It's a story that could continue even if both superstars move on to Raw or Smackdown. But as far as this chapter of their story goes, it may be the perfect time for Trick Williams to really break away from his former partner to ride his own hype train to the next level of his career in NXT. Meanwhile, after getting a small taste here and there, the WWE main roster is ready for the brash, cocky, and exciting Carmelo Hayes to captivate arenas around the world. Of course, Williams won't be far behind, but this win could make him one of NXT's top competitors for a while. Furthermore, given his relationship with Philadelphia and his connection to the Philadelphia Eagles, the pop from this win will be enough fuel to propel him to the top for a few months.
