The release of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold smartphone, which is expected to be available this summer, is approaching. According to the latest rumors, Samsung will not upgrade the battery of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6, but it won't be that big of a deal and we can even expect improved battery life.

The battery size leak comes from Ice Universe, a serial leaker who is reputed to be quite reliable. This leaker claims that Samsung will use the same 4,400mAh battery that is found in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, 4, and 5. Interestingly, Samsung used a 4,500mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

However, despite the same battery size, Samsung is improving battery life with each phone. For example, in our review of the Z Fold 5, the Z Fold 4 had a drain test of 10 hours and 55 minutes, compared to 9 hours and 17 minutes for the Z Fold 5. [The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is more power efficient than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in last year's model, so we expect the same to happen with the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Battery life will not be an issue.

The new model should also offer the same or better battery life, but I'm a little disappointed that leaked information suggests that Samsung will stick with the same 25W charging speed as the previous generation. having such a slow charging speed in a $1,800 phone is a bit underwhelming. I feel it's a little unsatisfactory.

Of course, these are rumors and could be wrong. We won't know for sure until Samsung announces everything about the upcoming Z Fold model.
