Android's sharing menu is, at best, incredibly inconsistent. The system tries to predict who you are going to send to and what apps you are going to use, but often with limited success. Fortunately, Google Photos has added a new feature that makes it easier to bookmark specific recipients and send photos in "full quality."

So, you know who is usually the first person to get the latest pet or baby photo, or the best meme a Reddit bot can repost on any given day, you don't have to go sifting through various contacts and services to find them No need to go sifting through various contacts and services to find them. And as discovered by 9to5Google, it's rolling out right now.

The first thing you need is an Android device, because Google Photos on iOS does not include the new Favorite Contacts feature. You also need to make sure that the app has been updated to version 6.76.

You can check by heading to the Google Photos Library tab and clicking on Utilities in the upper right corner. Users with the new favorites feature will be prompted to add their favorites. It can be a spouse, parents, best friend, or anyone who can't get enough of their new puppy.

You can also change your favorites if you need to change your preferences. Go to Settings and select "Share Favorites. Unfortunately, you can only select one at a time. So you should take care of that selection.

Judging from the 9to5Google screenshot, favorites appear at the top of the sharing interface and are marked with a small colored heart. google also emphasizes that this shares the image in perfect quality, meaning they will share it as it was taken meaning that they will see it as it was taken. Some sharing apps compress files, removing important details in the process, but this is less than ideal.

This new feature is currently being rolled out, but it doesn't seem to be available to everyone just yet. So if you want to get the most out of the new Google Photos favorites, you should make sure your app is fully up-to-date and always check the Utilities menu for new features.
