Google Pixel 9 Rendered Images Leaked - And a Surprising Third Phone

A rendered image claiming to show the Pixel 9 has emerged, revealing the look of the flagship smartphone that Google is expected to ship later this year. Normally, this would be the full story, but there is more to this image leak.

It is one of three different Pixel 9 flagships that are supposedly coming this fall.

This comes from Steve Hemmerstoffer, who posts information about upcoming phones as OnLeaks. The leaker shared the latest Pixel 9 image with 91mobiles, but added a confession about a previous Pixel leak.

"The #Google phone I leaked in January is actually the #Pixel9Pro and seems likely to be marketed as the #Pixel9ProXL," OnLeaks wrote in a post to X

.

This would actually be in line with previous rumors about Google's Pixel plans for the fall, which claimed that three Pixel models would arrive in 2024. The one featured in these new images is the standard Pixel 9, while the image of a model with three rear cameras shared in January was the Pixel 9 Pro.

According to Hemmerstoffer, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will feature the same design, distinguished only by the number of cameras in the horizontal bar across the back. This is consistent with past Pixel models in recent years. The difference this time around is that there will be a 6.7-inch version of the Pro called the Pixel Pro XL.

The Pixel 9, shown off in a new Hemmerstoffer leak, is expected to offer a 6.03-inch display, compared to the 6.1-inch screen expected in the smaller Pixel 9 Pro. From a design standpoint, the device will offer a flat display with a single punch hole for the selfie camera, Leeker said. In addition, the power button and volume keys will be located on the right side of the frame.

As with other leaks, it is impossible to confirm the claims. And as expected, Google has not spoken about its plans for the Pixel 9 lineup this year. Still, fans of compact phones will be happy to hear that they won't have to opt for a handset with a larger screen if they insist on having a device with a dedicated telephoto lens.

So far, the Google Pixel 9 rumors are just getting started and have not revealed much about Google's planned features; the Pixel 9 is expected to have a more powerful Tensor chipset and will run on Android 15 is almost certain. Several other rumors suggested that the device will offer Qi2 charging technology, increasing charging speeds to 15W.

Two major details of the Pixel 9 lineup are still unknown: the exact price and release date. However, given that Google has been adhering to the October timeframe for quite some time, it is almost certain that the devices will not hit store shelves until October. The highest price for a Pixel 8 device last year was the Pixel 8 Pro, which started at $999. But if the company is indeed launching the Pixel 9 Pro XL this year, that model is likely to be even more expensive.

If there is any truth to be found, more rumors will surface in the coming months, bringing more information about Google's Pixel 9 lineup. However, we won't have much to say about them until Google holds an event later this year to announce the device
