iPhone 16, this new technology will make the bezel ridiculously thin.

New advances in smartphone screen manufacturing could result in thinner bezels around the display on all iPhone 16 models.

A report from South Korea's Sisajournal (shared by leaker Revegnus on X/Twitter) references industry sources and states that the new iPhone may implement the Border Reduction Structure (or BRS) to reduce the bezel surrounding the display.

This will hopefully mean that users will enjoy more usable pixels in the same space; the BRS targets the bottom bezel of the display, which is usually the thickest of the four bezels surrounding the display.

The bottom border can be shrunk by rewinding the copper wiring attached to the display, thereby shrinking the other bezels as well and maintaining symmetry.

The extra heat generated from the wound wiring used to be a problem, but now appears to have been resolved, according to the Sisajournal report. Samsung Display, LG Display, and BOE are the main suppliers of Apple's displays for the iPhone 16, and all are expected to adopt this technology.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max currently have the thinnest bezels of any iPhone, and the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are not far behind. Adopting BRS for all new iPhones would mean a unified bezel across the model lineup, which would be a great touch, especially for entry-level models.

The iPhone 16 Pro model would be differentiated anyway, as there are rumors that the display size will be changed. The standard and Plus models may have the same size 6.1" and 6.7" displays, while the Pro and Pro Max could expand to 6.3" and 6.9" respectively.

These rumors have us already looking forward to September when we are likely to see these new iPhones. iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max rumors and leaks If you would like to keep up with the latest developments, please visit our regularly updated news hub, which is updated on a regular basis.
