Finally! An OLED iPad Pro may soon be available.

The OLED iPad Pro has become like my bank balance. I've heard rumors, but as I sit here today eating instant noodles, it feels more like a distant idea than a reality. [According to The Elec, Apple's next-generation prosumer tablet is now in production with a target launch date of April.

This launch date coincides with a Bloomberg report that an Apple event could be held in March to unveil the new iPad Pro model along with the new iPad Air in two sizes. Typically, the Cupertino crew would start taking pre-orders a few days later and announce the new devices the following week. Therefore, it is likely that the device will ship later this month, in early April.

As for production, Apple has asked both LG Display and Samsung to help manufacture panels. The former will produce the thin-film transistor (TFT) layer for the 13-inch Pro, while Samsung will take on the same work for the 11-inch. the TFT is an essential component of an OLED display, as it controls the turning on and off of individual OLED pixels, providing a crisp contrast ratio and power efficiency .

Once these TFT layers are in production, mass production of the entire hardware is expected to be in full swing around March.

Enthusiastic observers will know that not a single new iPad will be available in 2023, which would be a considerable blow to sales. Apple is no doubt hoping that such a full model change is what is needed to turn things around. Perhaps it will feature an upgrade to the M3 chipset found in the new MacBook Pro and keep everything super smooth on the OLED screen.

However, there is a slight problem with this. Namely, OLED screens of this size usually come with a more expensive price tag. Does this mean that the iPad Pro could be ridiculously expensive? Hopefully not, but all eyes are on the rumored March event.
