"Reacher" Season 3 has officially been announced, bringing Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher back to Prime Video.

Season 2 was once again a hit for Amazon, so it was not surprising that the company was quick to allow more episodes to air. This is because Season 3 of Reacher was officially renewed two weeks before Season 2 became available on Prime Video. [Reacher" had been renewed for Season 3 two weeks before Season 2 was released on Prime Video. So now that "Reacher" Season 3 is in the works, here's everything you need to know, from release date speculation to casting, plot, and more.

At this point, we know that "Reacher" Season 3 is currently in production, but there is no hint of a release date yet. However, we can speculate when episodes will be added.

Season 1 was filmed between April 15 and July 30, 2021, and debuted on Prime Video on February 4, 2022. This means that filming took approximately three and a half months, and post-production took another six months. Given that production has already begun, the earliest "Reacher" Season 3 can be expected to hit TV screens is October 2024.

However, it is possible, I believe, that Prime Video could delay it until December 2024. That would be the annual schedule that networks and studios tend to prefer for serialized television programming (Season 2 was released in December 2023). Given that Prime Video's Season 2 was released in December, I would expect Amazon to release Season 3 in December 2024.

Still, if this latest information from Jack Reacher himself is accurate, these projections may be too conservative: in an interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Alan Ritchson, who plays the main character Reacher, said that filming for Season 3 is almost finished (h/t CBR). Considering that production has only been in the works for at most three months, that would be amazing if true.

Four cast members have now been officially confirmed for Season 3. Richeson, of course, will return as the titular character Jack Reacher. He will again co-star with Maria Sten as Reacher's former military buddy Francis Neagley.

However, apart from these two, one cannot expect to see any familiar faces. In fact, only Ritchison and Sten have taken over, except for a guest appearance by Malcolm Goodwin as Margrave Police Chief Oscar Finlay.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Nick Santora said to expect more of the same in season 3. Reacher's DNA is that he moves around on his own, joins forces with good people when bad things are lurking, and then says goodbye to those people and goes his own way."

We know who the two new additions are for Season 3. Anthony Michael Hall will play Zachary Beck, a carpet importer, and could be a major antagonist this season. Sonya Cassidy has also been confirmed as the tough but resourceful DEA agent Susan Duffy, who will probably team up with Reacher at some point in the season.

Since this announcement, Amazon has announced four other new cast members. Brian Tee will play Quinn, who may antagonize Beck, played by Hall. Speaking of Beck, Johnny Berchtold will play his son Richard. Meanwhile, Roberto Montesinos and Daniel David Stewart will play DEA agents Guillermo Villanueva and Stephen Elliott, who work with Duffy and Reacher.

Another thing is that although Sten returns for the third season as Neagley, Neagley does not actually appear in the original story. Therefore, her character will be a wild card in season 3.
