New on Netflix: 5 Movies and Shows to Watch This Week (Feb. 19-25)

With the most romantic week of the year behind us, it's time to dig deep into the Netflix minefield to see what's new on the Netflix streaming service. As usual, there's plenty to sift through, including Netflix's highly anticipated debut of its live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon's animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender."

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" depicts a world long ago when the nations of water, earth, fire, and air lived together in peace. One day, everything changed and harmony gave way to chaos. The Avatar, Aang (Gordon Cormier), is the only one who can bring them together through his ability to "bend" the four elements. This is not the 2010 film version, but an entirely new series.

Tyler Perry's Mea Culpa follows a criminal defense attorney (Kelly Rowland) who defends an artist accused of murdering his girlfriend. However, things get much more twisted than that as the show progresses, as the two seem to be getting inappropriately close.

Also, when the 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards go live on Netflix, you can watch the stars come out to celebrate the performers honored by SAG-AFTRA's 122,000+ artist union members.

There is much more, and we are only halfway through the month. To see the rest of what's buzzing through the streamers, don't miss our day-by-day roundup of Netflix's new shows of the week below.

Mike Epps took the stage again for his fourth Netflix special, blending his signature style of humor with a bit of sheepish self-deprecation. From making fun of people who don't practice good hygiene to banning "work husbands," Epps has a witty one-liner for just about everything. He switches between wry and sharp standup about the difficulties of everyday life and relationships in general.
