Every network and broadcaster is desperately looking for the next "Game of Thrones" (HBO solved that by just making a prequel). And now FX is betting on this epic adaptation of James Clavell's 1975 novel of the same name, set in feudal Japan circa 1600 and featuring shipwrecked English sailor John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), a formidable lord Toranga (Sanada) with dangerous rivals Hiroyuki), and Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai), a woman from a disgraced family who must prove her worth in an unforgiving society. Battles, intrigue, power struggles, and a bit of romance unfold with impeccable direction. The next "Game of Thrones" may be here.

"The Good Wife" and its first spin-off, "The Good Fight," were famous for their stellar guest star cast. Among the standouts was Carrie Preston, who played Elsbeth Tascioni, an eccentric and unconventional lawyer, clearly on the spectrum. This Elsbeth was hired by the NYPD as a watchdog. Her intelligence and unique perspective make her a perfect talent for the role, but her eccentricities irritate Captain C.W. Wagner (Wendell Pierce) and Officer Kaya Blanke (Carla Patterson). And, as in the previous film, the film features a stellar cameo cast, including Jane Krakowski, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Blair Underwood, and Leta.
