March is here and spring is on the way. That means that this month is full of new TV shows and movies on HBO and Max.

Topping the list of new shows and movies is Regime. Starring Kate Winslet, this political satire with acting talent is probably my most anticipated show or movie on HBO and Max in March.

But this isn't the only new Max release. There are plenty of films worth checking out, including last year's "Wonka" and "Dream Scenario." As someone who saw the latter, I highly recommend checking out this Nick Cage performance.

Of course, these top picks include plenty of other TV shows and movies as well. The best streaming services are constantly adding a huge number of new shows and movies, and this month is no exception. Plus, thanks to the B/R Sports Add-on, you can also watch live sports.

Here's a look at all that is expected to come to and leave HBO and Max in March 2024.

Kate Winslet is returning to HBO's limited series. In The Regime, Winslet plays Elena Varnum, the iron-fisted prime minister of fictional Central Europe. But thanks to pressure from an imprisoned leader (Hugh Grant) who opposes her government, her control is weakening.

Unlike in "Mare," Winslet does not appear to have chosen dialect instruction for this play. No one is attempting to use authentic accents, which is fine. Despite being billed as a drama, this political satire appears to have the potential to be a completely unhinged dark comedy instead. Regardless, it is a show to watch this month on HBO and Max.

Premieres March 3 on HBO and Max

Spoiler alert: This is a musical. The powers that be do not want you to know that, as any hint of a musical has been almost completely erased from the trailer. But expect to see Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) and Oompa-Loompa Lofty (Hugh Grant) singing and dancing.

Nevertheless, "Wonka" is perfectly fine as an excuse to enjoy the movie with the family, even if you are not particularly interested in musicals. Chalamet's performance in particular has received rave reviews from critics.

Streaming on Max starting March 8

Not all new releases this month are coming to HBO. The Girls on the Bus, starring Melissa Benoist, Natasha Behnam, Christina Elmore, and Carla Gugino, is an all-new TV series exclusive to Max. The comedy-drama tells the story of four female journalists who follow a fictional U.S. presidential campaign, based on their 2018 memoir, "Chasing Hillary," and which campaign will be used as inspiration for the candidates they cover in the 10-episode first season It goes without saying.

Premiered March 14 on Max

"Dream Scenario" was one of the most entertaining films I saw last year. The film stars Nicolas Cage as Paul Matthews, a college professor who appears in the dreams of people all over the world. The only problem is that he has no idea why.

If that sounds fun and silly, it is. You're right. But the film is at times both funny and darkly heartbreaking. But regardless of tone, Cage's Golden Globe-nominated performance is always unmissable.

Streaming on Max starting March 15

"More Feelings" follows comedian and actor Rami Youssef's hit 2019 stand-up comedy special "Feelings. "We don't know much about this A24-produced HBO original comedy special, but if it's anything like the highly rated 2019 special and Yusef's award-winning TV show "Ramy," we expect it to be one of the best things we watch on HBO and Max this month. This comedian's talent is not to be missed.
