Samsung is reportedly developing an "Ultra" version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 - what we know

Samsung may be eyeing the possibility of adding another foldable phone to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra.

This is not a new concept; there have been rumors for some time that a second Fold model could be on the horizon, but it was thought that it would take the form of a less expensive FE-style model. However, a recent article in WinFuture speculates that instead, a more expensive Ultra model may be coming to consumers.

Given the already high cost of folding phones, the idea of introducing a more expensive folding model may seem like a mistake. However, according to Phone Arena's Alan Friedman, Samsung reportedly dominated the folding smartphone market for a record third quarter, so the timing could be perfect.

In addition to this, a recent leak from well-known tipster Max Jambor cites three model names associated with the Z series, providing some evidence that something may be coming. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has been identified by Samsung as the "Q6" and the Z Flip 6 is the "B6"; what the "Q6a" currently refers to is unclear, as there is no model with such a name as far as we know.

Note that all of this information is relatively uncertain at this time; there is not a lot of information regarding a third model in the Z series, and other tip sources have not mentioned the possibility. However, it is possible that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra will add a variation to the next generation of foldable phones. [Recent leaks have shown some rendered images of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and while it is a very good-looking phone, it certainly doesn't have any visually stunning elements The Ultra model will compete with the Google Pixel Fold 2 by being larger and possibly In some cases, making it thinner would change this situation. One of the most requested features, however, would be a built-in S Pen slot. Alternatively, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 could be replaced by a model with the Galaxy S24 Ultra's 200MP camera. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra could have a more premium titanium design, like the S24 Ultra.

We would not be surprised to see a more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 6 model, and this is likely to be the final market trend, but for now we will have to wait and see. Currently, Samsung is expected to officially announce the next generation Galaxy Z series at Samsung Unpacked in July, followed by an August launch.
