Apple reportedly developing a giant foldable MacBook with 20-inch display.

Laptops with foldable screens are nothing new, but the big question many may have is, "When will Apple release a foldable MacBook?" This would be the question. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a MacBook with a 20-inch display could appear in about three years.

Posting on Twitter/X, Kuo claims that this is the only foldable product (so far) with a "clear development schedule" for Apple. In other words, regardless of which device the rumored iPhone Flip eventually becomes, a foldable iPhone or iPad will not be available in 2025 or 2026.

Kuo's comments do not mean that a foldable iPhone is not being developed somewhere at Apple. However, according to his sources, there is no set timeline for when this product might arrive. There have been rumors since last month claiming that the Foldable could launch alongside the iPhone 18 in 2026. But also in December there were rumors that the iPhone Flip would launch a year later, in 2027.

If the rumors can't determine when the foldable iPhone will arrive, Kuo's argument makes sense; Apple can't accurately predict the arrival of a new product if it doesn't know when it will come either.

However, Kuo did not provide many details about the foldable MacBook. Only that the device has a 20.3-inch screen and is expected to enter mass production at some point in 2027. Rumors of such a device have been around for more than two years, and this is not the first time.

More recently, these rumors have extended to larger screen devices, with reports that Samsung is developing a 20-inch size foldable MacBook display. Just last month, it was reported that Apple's first foldable, which Kuo claims will be a larger screen device, could appear sometime in 2027.

Unfortunately, 2027 is still a long way off and we will have to be patient. After all, Apple has yet to release a MacBook with an OLED display or touchscreen. In other words, there is still plenty of room for display upgrades before folding screens enter the mix.
