This year's Oscar nominations ranged from blockbusters and quiet indies to provocative documentaries and flashy animated features.

Nominated for Best Picture were "American Fiction," "Anatomy of a Fall," "Barbie," "Holdover," "Killers of the Flower Moon," "Maestro," "Oppenheimer," "Past Lives," "Poor Things and "Zone of Interest" are the ten films.

The top contender is undoubtedly "Oppenheimer," which, as TG's Rory Mellon noted in his Oscar predictions, has won every major outpost so far. It should also sweep all other awards, including Best Director for Christopher Nolan and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.

The 2024 Academy Awards ceremony will televise performances from all 23 awards and all five Best Song nominees. Jimmy Kimmel will again host the event, but hopefully it will not be a "Moonlight"/"La La Land" repeat.
