OnePlus 12 Colors Officially Announced - May Have a Surprise Bonus

While some companies try in vain to keep new features of their upcoming smartphones a secret, OnePlus historically likes to share little tidbits on social media to build excitement. And once again, the company has taken to Chinese social networking site Weibo to reveal key details about the OnePlus 12 ahead of the upcoming OnePlus 12 launch event on December 4.

In the post, OnePlus revealed three colors: black, green, and white. In the company's own somewhat awkwardly machine-translated words, these are not only "the three most popular colors among users," but also "a gift of time and growth."

If none of these colors appeal to you, there may be a surprising fourth shade. The buzz doesn't come from OnePlus itself, but from the prolific leaker Digital Chat Station, which posted a teaser image elsewhere on Weibo. The image shows a wood-grain panel embossed with the familiar OnePlus logo.

Longtime fans of OnePlus will immediately think of the wood-grained OnePlus One launched in 2014.

Back then, it was an interchangeable backplate, but whether that's what we'll get this time around or a more orthodox case remains to be seen. But either way, it's a nice way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a brand that has shaken up the mid-range Android market over the past decade.

OnePlus may announce more significant details in the next eight days leading up to the launch, but for now we'll have to rely on the word of the leaker.

What we are hearing, however, is very encouraging. The screen could achieve 3,000 nits of brightness, surpassing the iPhone 15's 2,000 and the Pixel Pro 8 Pro's 2,400, and there are rumors that OnePlus may bring its "rainwater touch control" technology to phones as well. We expect wireless charging to make a comeback and are also excited to see the raw power of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in action.

The December 4 launch will likely promote a China-only release first, but with a wider release expected in 2024, this could be a top pick for readers who want one of the best Android phones without spending a fortune. Watch for.
