Wireless headphones that read brain waves to help you work smarter - Master & Dynamic MW75-Neuro features

While 2023 will likely be remembered as the year generative AI gained public recognition through the world's most popular apps, 2024 is likely to be the year neuroscience finally enters the headphone world.

With today's (December 19) announcement of Master & Dynamic's partnership with the Neurable AI platform, there are indeed plans to do just that. You may not have heard of Neurable, a developer of wearable computer technology, but if you're interested in audio, you've almost certainly heard of New York-based Master & Dynamic.

Master & Dynamic introduced its MW75 noise-canceling headphones in June 2022, and through a partnership with Neurable, the company has integrated neurotechnology into a new version of its popular wireless headphones. The new headphones are called MW75-Neuro and are already available for pre-order now for $649.

The MW75-Neuro is similar to Master & Dynamic's other over-the-ear headphones, but incorporates a neural sensor in the fabric portion of the frame. The sensors are designed to track the wearer's brain waves to help identify periods of concentration, recognize signs of stress, and discover optimal mental well-being as analyzed by the Neurable AI app for iOS or Android. according to Neurable, the data is encrypted and de-identified. data is stored in an encrypted and de-identified form in a secure location, according to Neurable.

According to Neurable, the new MW75-Neuro headphones usher in an era of wearable technology that the company calls BCI-enabled ("brain-computer interface"), designed to maximize cognitive performance. BCI As a pioneer in the wearables field, NuLable is transforming everyday electronic devices into smart computing devices that include cognitive performance features. [Jonathan Levin, founder and CEO of Master & Dynamic, said of the Neurable partnership. The biggest advance in audio technology over the past decade has been the transition from analog devices to Bluetooth wireless devices. Now, by moving to brain sensing, the industry is entering a new wave of innovation. We are proud to lead the way with Neurable."

The first hands-on will be at CES 2024. But if you don't want to wait for our first impressions, you can pre-order Master & Dynamic's MW75-Neuro headphones on the neurable website. They are priced at $649 and are available in four colors: onyx, silver, olive, and navy.

This is $100 more than Apple's AirPods Max, but only $50 more than the original Master & Dynamic MW75 active noise-canceling headphones, which came out in June 2022.

Like the bold, modern MW75 design, the Neuro version is expected to offer powerful sound with expansive acoustics and ANC, and up to 32 hours of battery life (28 hours with ANC and neuro-tracking sensors enabled). The product is expected to It uses an angled 40mm beryllium driver and features Bluetooth 5.2 with support for SBC, AAC, and aptX Adaptive codecs.

Three active noise cancellation modes are available, with Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation intuitively adjusting ANC to ambient noise levels. Users can access two additional ANC modes within the M&D Connect app, customize the sound with EQ adjustments, and access ambient listening modes to tune in to their surroundings.

The original MW75 headphones continue to be available and come in multiple color options, including black leather on gunmetal, gray leather on silver metal, brown leather on silver metal, and black leather on black metal.
