Beats Studio Buds+ Review: The same iconic style with better ANC and battery life

Beats Studio Buds+ has arrived After weeks of rumors, the "plus" version of Apple's most popular Beats wireless earbuds has finally become official, offering both ios and Android users enhanced features such as active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency, improved call performance, and extended battery life

The good news is that the new Studio Buds+ version retains much of what made the original Studio Buds so popular They were ranked among some of the best wireless earbuds when they were launched in 2021, but technology advances have been rapid in the wireless earbuds sector, and Studio Buds' updates have been delayed for some time

Fortunately, I got some hands-on time just before the official launch to see if feature and performance enhancements are pushing the latest version of Beats Studio's bud on and if they're worth the increase20 price increase I keep scrolling to find out in my first thoughts in my hands-on review, which will be updated to the full review soon

Beats Studio Buds+ is available in 3 color options: black & gold, ivory and transparent from the apple Store They are priced at priced169/£179/AUま269

In addition, so far we have found that Beats Studio Buds+ can be purchased on Amazon and Best Buy

That's a増加2021 increase for the Plus version, which exceeds the price of the original Studio Buds, which went on sale for66149 in May 20 At the time of writing, there is no information on whether the new Plus version will replace the original or whether they will run in parallel

Unlike the 6 colorful options available for the original studio Bud, the plus includes black & gold, ivory, and transparent options Buds comes with a usb-C charging case The transparent option is obviously the most interesting option to look at (not intended for pun) and I secure a transparent finish for this hands-on review when I can see the transparent version of the meat, I will certainly convey my thoughts here

The ivory options that arrived for my hands-on review look great enough and feel well finished, but I'm OnePlus Buds2Pro's charging case at a similar price has an eggshell-like texture and is the same shape and size as the original It comes with a short USB-C-to-USB-C charging cable, which feels disappointing given the rise in prices and the number of current models

Sticking to the original iconic design, these are easily the smallest set earbuds I've come across If you are looking for a pair of discreet earbuds, these are very inconspicuous designs The outside of the pill type protrudes slightly from the ear, and the beat "b" is neatly displayed on top to see the world

Studio Buds+ retains its original IPX4 rating of water resistance, which is also the same as AirPods Pro2, enough to protect against sweat and light water splashes They come with 4 ear tip sizes including XS, S, M and l to fit all kinds of ears The medium size gave my ears the best acoustic seal, but there is no ear fit test to make sure they are inserted correctly into the ear

The first hands-on test showed a good level of comfort, allowing me to spend 1 hour in the gym without slipping or falling out

As with the original, the top of the earphone can be activated by pressing the multifunction button The force sensor is probably tuned because it was criticized in the original review as too sensitive, and it requires aggressive action to receive commands The controls run to play or press once to answer a call, twice to skip, three times to skip back, and noise cancellation

Of course, Apple Music subscribers will automatically get spatial audio playback of Dolby Atmos mix tracks, but the head tracking and equalizer will not work There is no audio adjustment such as ----------- The Beats Studio+ app looks pretty basic when connected to my iPhone12Pro and the level of personalization features I've seen in rival brands for the same price You can, of course, make sound adjustments through the settings of your playback device or music streaming service

Studio Buds included hands-free Siri support if you were using an Apple device, which immediately activated and responded to my commands I have not tried Google Assistant support on my Android device yet and it will be updated here when my tests are completed

On-ear detection does not appear to be enabled and playback does not pause when one or both earphones are removed

Without a pair of original studio buds to compare with

, the sound from the new plus version was different from what I expected Beats has long had a reputation for adding bass gravitas to the sound of whatever you're listening to, and I'm surprised at how lean the bass levels sounded with Beats Studio Buds+

Beats Studio Buds+ uses a dual-layer speaker design and provides a balanced bass level with less distortion It's a great place to start In addition, Beats"three new acoustic vents improve audio accuracy and gently relieve pressure for a more comfortable all-day fit

I can't argue with the comfort level, but the frequency balance is on the lean side When Loreen's Eurovision award-winning song "Tattoo" was streamed via Apple Music, there was a lack of bass depth and warmth, especially at low volume levels The bass doesn't sound as loud and punchy as I expected, and it does respond to the description of the big bass levels I'd expect from my first experience of listening to the Beast earbuds

In fact, the recently reviewed OnePlus Buds Pro2 gives you a much bigger bass when you listen to 2 models side by side Studio Bud+ does more openness and better scores around midrange and treble frequencies, but that's exactly the frequency range where the treble makes cheeky and dizzy sounds I have found that even after a very short listening period, the balance of the sound is tired and tired What's more, the new Beats Studio Buds+ doesn't seem to bring more bass depth or warmth than the sound signature of the more sophisticated-sounding apple AirPods Pro2, which is surprising

In Drake's "Search & Rescue," you can hear what Beats's original signature sound feels like working well But with music outside the genre, frequency balance tends to be on the lean side when compared to its in-ear rivals

There's a lack of bass depth and warmth that I didn't expect when I streamed Loreen's Eurovision award-winning song "Tattoo" via Apple Music, especially when listening at low volume levels Even the bass-heavy "Cha, Cha, Cha" in Käärijä (Finland's entry) doesn't have the same level of impact, and the depth and warmth of the bass sharpens compared to some rival earphones I've tried

Increasing the volume level helps fill the bass and bring more energy, but it doesn't work In addition, the treble details sometimes sound cheeky and hard surface, but I report back on my findings, giving further listening time in a range of studio buds + different music tracks, which I expect to achieve a full spectrum sound

Active noise cancellation is said to be up to 16 times more powerful, while transparency performance is said to be 2 times better than its predecessor

In the gym, the ANC blocks most of the noise from fellow exercisers nearby and the sound of ping notifications still breaks away on my work laptop

The transparent mode was effectively felt when I was walking back to the car after a gym session and I was well aware of my surroundings But like its predecessor, I couldn't see how to adjust the amount of sound passing through

Apple has increased the playback time of beats Studio Buds+ battery life from full charge to 9 hours This translates to 6 hours plus 3 additional charges if ANC or transparent mode is enabled Fast charging is supported, with only 5 minutes of charging for 1 hour of playback It takes 2 hours to recharge the full system

The new Beats Studio Buds+ does a lot for them They retain the original iconic design, but add improved ANC performance, a more powerful transparent mode, and hands-free Siri support The increased battery life looks like a winner, but it's pretty standard compared to today's rivals, and this next-generation version is a bit inferior to its price rivals, which have a more powerful feature set and more attractive sound
