Audio-Technica's Sound Burger portable turntable has been re-released with Bluetooth connectivity and three new colors for the modern music lover. The re-release follows the limited-edition red color version announced in November 2022 as part of Audio-Technica's 60th anniversary celebrations.

According to the Japanese audio technology company, the retro red version sold out worldwide in just a few days. This was faster than anyone had expected and a surprise to the Japanese audio specialists, some 40 years after the turntable's original debut. The turntable was then revived.

The Audio-Technica Sound Burger is available today (May 31, 2023). It is available directly from the Audio-Technica website, priced at $199/£199. White and black options are available immediately, while a yellow version will be available later this summer.

Designed as a small space solution, the Sound Burger is intended to make record playback more practical for those who want to travel with their record collection. Its retro styling blends pop art with Audio-Technica's trusted turntable heritage, updated for the modern music lover.

As far as Bluetooth record players go, Audio-Technica's Sound Burger is one of the most eye-catching designs I've seen. I didn't have a craving for it when it was in its original home, but now I'm eager to hear it. [Bluetooth wireless audio brings cable-free connectivity for listening with the best Bluetooth headphones or the best Bluetooth speakers, and the built-in battery is claimed to provide up to 12 hours of playback via the USB-C charging port.

As portable as ever, the Sound Burger features a dynamic balance system that applies pressure to the stylus to help it stay in the groove and keep the music on track; a DC motor keeps everything moving smoothly; and a belt-drive system keeps the stylus in place and the music flowing smoothly, The belt drive system can play 33 and 45 rpm records.

Sound Burger comes with a 45 rpm record adapter, a 3.5mm-stereo-RCA cable, and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The included stylus is interchangeable with the ATN3600L and costs approximately $24 / £20.
