Bose QuietComfort leaked with ultra new images - Watch out, Sony WH-1000XM5

Is Bose about to launch its new flagship ANC headphones, the QuietComfort Ultra, for 2023? A recent Twitter post by Kuba Wojciechowski (opens in new tab) includes an image of what appears to be Bose's next-generation ANC headphones, and it certainly looks that way.

The image (below), which is reportedly being developed under the codename "Lone Starr," is not the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 (open in new tab), Bose's flagship model released nearly four years ago, but the current Bose Bose headphone design that closely resembles the QuietComfort 45 (opens in new tab).

The leaker, who regularly shares information about Android devices, admits that "there is very little information about this product at this time" and that "it appears to be in the early stages of development."

When it comes to ANC headphones, Bose has always been the brand leader for the best noise-canceling headphones and has offered a number of top noise-canceling headphone models in our buying guide over the years. In general, a slow and steady approach, rather than a steady stream of new products, has always paid off for Bose, and the number of top models in our buying guide is a testament to Bose's noise-canceling know-how.

That is, we see rival headphones such as Sony's WH-1000XM5, which launched last year to great acclaim for its successful balance of elite sound and stellar noise-canceling performance, mounting a serious challenge to Bose's top spot and crown as the best noise-canceling headphone Until.

Bose's lineup of active noise-canceling models has already been updated over the past few years.

We saw the successor to the QuietComfort Earbuds 2 (open in new tab) launch last year, and in 2021 the Bose QuietComfort 45 (open in new tab) will replace the QuietComfort 35, but neither models have not significantly improved battery life to match the current ANC models. Sennheiser's Momentum 4 Wireless (opens in new tab) is currently the best model in terms of battery life, with up to 50 hours of use with ANC enabled. Therefore, one would imagine that for the new model to be worthy of the "Ultra" moniker, it would have to significantly exceed the company's previous battery life claims

.

Another factor to consider is high-quality audio support. Bose announced last year that Qualcomm's S5 sound platform will be included in future Bose products; the QuietComfort Earbuds 2, released in September 2022, support aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, and plans for new models are expected to follow similar specifications. The new model is expected to have similar specifications.

Stay tuned for more Bose news as it becomes available.
