A remastered version of "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" will be released on the Nintendo Switch.

Scheduled for release on July 16, "Skyward Sword HD" was unveiled during a Nintendo Direct livestream, which revealed that the game will run at 60 frames per second and will have the option to use traditional controls instead of motion controls

Before "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," "Skyward Sword" was the last original console "Legend of Zelda" game released by Nintendo.

Many of the interesting mechanics of "Skyward Sword," such as the stamina gauge and the ability to paraglide from high places, were later used in "Breath of the Wild." Furthermore, Skyward Sword's music and dungeons are still among the best in the series.

However, Skyward Sword was somewhat controversial among Zelda fans. The precise swordplay was a novel idea, but it made dealing with enemies feel formulaic.

If an enemy blocked from the left, you would always swing from the right, and so on. In addition, the game was repeatedly watered down at the end of the game, artificially prolonging the game.

These motion controls were reworked to map to the gyroscope of the Joy-Con controller. However, there is an option to simply use the Joy-Con joystick instead of the motion controls. Also, since the Nintendo Switch Lite does not have a detachable controller, the development team could have re-mapped the directional sword combat in Skyward Sword to the right analog stick.

Nintendo also announced that it would produce a new limited edition Joy-Con game controller. The right Joy-Con is based on the Master Sword, while the left Joy-Con is based on the Hylian Shield.

Skyward Sword was released at the end of the Wii's popularity, so many gamers have never played the game. Furthermore, there is a younger generation of players who want to play it for the first time.

Given that Skyward Sword is currently locked on the Wii, making the standard composite input work on modern 4K TVs is a bit of a pain. Nintendo has revitalized Skyward Sword for modern displays by giving the game an HD refresh.
