Switch to get Pro Skater 1+2 for PS5, Xbox Series X and Tony Hawk

Publisher Activision announced on March 26 that "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2" will be ported to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Additionally, a port to Nintendo Switch is planned for later this year.

The game will feature various changes on the next-generation platforms, including native 4K resolution at 60 fps and spatial audio. There will also be a mode that will allow users to play "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" at 1080p and 120fps.

"Upgrades of 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1' and 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2' to next-generation consoles will add high-fidelity atmospherics," Activision said in a press release. This unique graphical feature will allow players to experience sharper dynamic shadows, reflections, lens flares, enhanced skater textures, and more on next-gen consoles."

Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will not be charged an additional fee to upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Gamers who purchased the regular digital version will have to pay an additional $10 to get the next-gen version.

As for those who purchased either the regular or collector's edition physical game with the previous generation disc in their system, they have the option to purchase the upgraded version through the PlayStation or Xbox store. Unfortunately, physical owners of the previous generation console editions who own a PS5 Digital Edition or Xbox Series S have no upgrade path.

The new version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater features a secret skater named Ripper, the skeleton mascot of American skateboarding company Powell-Peralta. There will also be retro gear for Create-A-Skater mode and retro skins for Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Rodney Mullen.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is priced at $49.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
