When the OnePlus Watch launches next week, don't expect it to be a particularly powerful device. In fact, don't expect anything more than a souped-up fitness tracker at the March 23 launch event.

Ishan Agarwal, a regular OnePlus leaker, shared a few key details about the OnePlus Watch on Twitter. If you were expecting a competitor to the Apple Watch 6, you may be disappointed. But for those on a budget, it could be a good inexpensive smartwatch.

It is worth noting here that, according to Agarwal, the OnePlus Watch does not appear to be powered by Google's Wear OS. In fact, other than the OnePlus TV controls, the features he mentioned are no different from those found in one of the best fitness trackers. [Furthermore, many of these features are also found on the OnePlus Band; the OnePlus Watch has a few dedicated features, such as call control and warp charging, but they don't feel like enough to compete with the Apple Watch.

On the plus side, the fact that the OnePlus Watch lasts a week on a charge is impressive. Most smartwatches run out of charge in a day or two.

Another plus: OnePlus promises that the wearable will be offered at an "affordable price point" when it launches with the OnePlus 9 series. As such, the OnePlus Watch will probably be outpaced by the Apple Watch 3 and Apple Watch SE.

The leaked streamlined feature set begs the question why the watch has been delayed so many times, especially considering the lack of special features.

The last delay was blamed on "production or software development complications."

Our biggest question is how we will get apps on the OnePlus Watch and what the assortment will be; we should know more on March 23.
