Doom Eternal Ancient Gods Part two DLC Go Live Today — What to Expect

"Doom Eternal" fans will finally see the conclusion of "Ancient Gods" part two. The game then takes a sharp turn into high fantasy.

The trailer for Doom Eternal's DLC "Ancient Gods Part 2" has been released. Dragons, sentinel armies, and demons appear and prepare to battle the Dark Lord.

After nearly three decades of battling hellish monsters, the "Doom" video game series has finally reached its conclusion. With the release of "Doom Eternal" last year and the latest DLC "The Ancient Gods - Part 2" coming out tomorrow, this will be the last mission for "Doom Slayer" players. At least for now.

The Ancient Gods, Part 2 also introduces enemies and a new weapon, the Sentinel Hammer, which gives the Doom Guy the ability to shock and stun enemies.

Produced by id Software and Bethesda Softworks, the two DLCs will follow the storyline after the main game; according to a Polygon interview published on March 17, Doom Eternal game director Hugo, discussed where the series might go next.

"Can we tell the story of when (the Doom Slayer) first came to that place with Sentinel, like a more medieval setting, a fantasy setting? Martin asked. 'I think if you play through the DLC you'll see lots of hints of what we could do in the future. Maybe even in the future. Again, our heroes are timeless. So they can tell all kinds of stories."

If you are interested in playing "Doom Eternal," Microsoft has a "Game Pass" for Xbox players. This comes after the company acquired Bethesda Softworks for $7.5 billion last September. The acquisition was completed earlier this week, and Xbox and PC will be home to future Bethesda titles. Doom Eternal is now available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Games from the Fallout series, Wolfenstein, and The Elder Scrolls are also available through Xbox Game Pass. PlayStation owners with VR headsets can also play "Doom 3: VR," which was released earlier this month.
