Update: A new teaser trailer for "Starfield" suggests it will be a cross between "Skyrim" and "The Expanse."

With Bethesda's "Starfield" said to be released in 2021, the Xbox Series X could have a big exclusive title this year.

Little is known about this space-set sci-fi game, but journalist and reliable game leaker Jeff Grubb, on his YouTube channel "Dealer - Gaming," said that Bethesda will show off "Starfield" at E3 in 2021 and claims that it will be released at the end of the year.

Starfield could be an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S console exclusive, as Microsoft has stated that the Bethesda acquisition will drive Xbox Game Pass exclusivity.

Rumors and leaks about Starfield have been slight at best, with Bethesda only releasing a brief and fairly vague trailer for the game last year. However, like "The Elder Scrolls 6," "Starfield" is a game that has garnered a lot of attention.

It expands on the open-world nature of "The Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout" on a galactic level, so to speak, allowing players to explore multiple worlds filled with vast and diverse environments.

With the power of the Xbox Series X and its fast SSD, it can support large, detailed game worlds without slowing the game down or bogging down the action with load times.

The new Xbox console does not offer that many big-name exclusive games, with the exception of "Halo Infinite" and "Fable 4". Therefore, Starfield's exclusivity this year could bring a killer game to the Xbox Series X and increase the temptation for Xbox Game Pass.

Even if Starfield were not an Xbox and PC exclusive, it could still be a timed exclusive title if it follows Microsoft's game plan; PS5 is doing the same thing with games like Forspoken, for which game footage was recently unveiled.

Such an exclusive game might actually attract people to Xbox games, but we need to see the Starfield footage before making a definitive statement. However, the fact that this game is said to be coming this year is certainly grounds for a little excitement.
