Resident Evil Village PC system requirements revealed — and that's good news

Capcom has announced the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village ahead of its May 7, 2021 release. Overall, the good news for PC gamers is that most mid-range gaming PCs will be able to run the game at 1080p resolution.

The system requirements are available on the game's Steam page, and Capcom's Japanese website also details the specifications needed to run "Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village" with ray tracing enabled.

Capcom has yet to reveal the amount of free storage space needed to install "Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village", as posted on Twitter by @PlayStationSize. According to leaked information, the file size of the PS5 version could exceed 27 GB, but this has not been confirmed by Capcom. However, according to the official Microsoft Store listing, the file size appears to be closer to 45 GB, which may take into account the first day patch and the expected multiplayer mode.

In case you've been living under a rock, "Resident Evil Village" is the upcoming eighth installment in the famed "Resident Evil" franchise. Announced last summer and set for release on May 7, it is one of the most anticipated games of the year. The game will be available for PC as well as for older and newer generation consoles, including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

In a recently released gameplay demo and trailer, "Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village" revealed that the setting is a creepy gothic village infested with vampires and werewolves.
