Bang & Olufsen has unveiled its latest premium wireless headphones, the Beoplay HX, which boast incredible battery life.

Launched today (March 25) for $499 (£449 / €499), the black-colored headphones are not cheap, and will compete with the AirPods Max to be the best headphones for those with money to spare. Bang & Olufsen will launch the end of April A white model will also be available, and a mixed version in white and brown will be available in May.

Bang & Olufsen's new headphones, which will replace the much-loved Beoplay H9, do not deviate much from the H9 in terms of design: the Beoplay HX is made of supple leather, with a cowhide upper headband to handle the shocks and impacts of everyday use. [Active noise cancellation (ANC) and Bluetooth operate for up to 35 hours, or 40 hours with ANC disabled.

Google Fast Pair and Apple Made for iPhone (MFi) make it easy to pair the headphones with the best Android phones and provide the best iPhone compatibility. HX's Bluetooth 5.1 allows your hardware and quickly links with it to provide multipoint connectivity. [35 hours of ANC playback puts it ahead of most of Bang & Olufsen's rivals, especially Apple's $549 AirPods Max, which only offer 20 hours of playback with ANC turned on.

Alternatively, one can opt for the noise-canceling features of Sony's WH-1000XM4. This is a looser purse string at $350, and with 30 hours of ANC runtime, it falls just short in terms of playback time. However, the Beoplay HX's incredible playback time makes it definitely a product to add to your shopping list.
