With just a few weeks to go until the release of the PS5-exclusive title "Returnal," a new trailer has been released that will make you want to dive into the third-person action.

The cycle of live, die, repeat is the main attraction, with protagonist Selene repeating Groundhog Day on an alien planet called Atropos. It's not often that a triple-A title incorporates procedurally generated roguelike elements, which is why Housemarque's sci-fi shooter is so interesting.

You may recognize a few snippets from the already released trailer, which can be found on the official PlayStation YouTube channel. This is for PlayStation Japan subscribers, but the character narration is in English, so you won't get lost watching it.

The game footage is both maddening and chilling. At first glance, People Can Fly's "Outriders," released today on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (and cross-platform playable!) ), it seems somewhat similar to.

Returnal has a rather horrifying atmosphere, with Selene coming across an obviously creepy house on a planet and switching to a first-person perspective once inside. Here there are puzzles to solve and the player is freed from the outdoor action. You might prefer fighting space monsters to exploring the creepy old house, though.

The "multiplayer" portion of the game is similar to the "Dark Souls" series, where players come across the corpses of other defeated players. You can interact with them, pick up equipment, or, if you're feeling heroic, avenge them by defeating the enemies who caused their untimely deaths.

The game also integrates many of the cool dual-sense features you'd expect from a PS5-exclusive title; Returnal will be released on April 30.

Returanl joins Ratchet and Clank, Rift Apart, and Horizon Forward as one of the few PS5 exclusive games to be released this year: along with Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, and others, PS5 is starting to look like a console worth going to the trouble of chasing the PS5 restock. Unless, of course, you really want to wait for the PS5 Pro, which is a long shot if it really is going to be released.
