Resident Evil 4VR Announces for Oculus Quest 2 - and It Scares your heck

"Resident Evil 4" is coming to VR, but not on Sony's PS VR headset. Instead, the iconic horror title will appear on the Oculus Quest 2, but Capcom has yet to share a release date.

The news was announced at the Resident Evil Showcase, where it was revealed that the VR version will be produced by Capcom, Oculus Studios, and Armature. Unlike the original version, it will feature a first-person perspective to suit the new medium. The gameplay snippets that can be seen in the video also show a strong "Resident Evil 7 VR" vibe.

Gamers are promised "more richness and depth" with the VR adaptation, and while this doesn't tell us much, more details will be revealed at the Oculus Gaming Showcase next Wednesday, April 21. New gameplay will also be shown, so if you were intrigued by the announcement video, why not watch it on Twitch or YouTube? The show will start at 3 pm PT / 6 pm ET / 11 pm BST.

Capcom has made the jump to VR easier for players with "Resident Evil 7," the first in the series to feature a first-person perspective. Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil Village follows this new formula and may eventually be adapted to VR for PS VR (or the upcoming PS VR 2). Capcom did not mention whether "Resident Evil 4 VR" will be released on headsets other than the Facebook-owned Oculus, so it may be exclusive to that platform.

During the showcase, Capcom also released a new trailer for "Resident Evil: Village" and announced that Mercenaries mode will return in the next installment. Fans of fast-paced gameplay will be happy to see the return of this mode, as it was skipped entirely in "Resident Evil 7: Resident Evil". However, there are some changes this time around, granting players special abilities and providing breaks between areas with in-game stores where items can be purchased and upgraded.
