Battlefield 6 Leaked images show off Tropical maps and HUD

DICE has officially announced that Battlefield 6 will launch this year, but two leaked images may give us our first look at the online shooter in action.

The two low-resolution screenshots, leaked by Twitter user @Sian92984059, are reportedly taken from the game's announcement trailer, which may be officially released later this month.

The first image shows a group of planes flying over a tropical island (with what appears to be a large explosion in the background); the second was taken from the cockpit of a plane and shows a missile launch site; the second image appears to show off the HUD, suggesting that the game will actually be played later this year suggesting what we will see when we actually play the game later this year.

Normally one would not give much credence to two rather blurry images provided by a less than reputable user, but this leak was confirmed by Tom Henderson. Henderson is a well-known "Battlefield 6" insider, and thanks to his endorsement, the leak was suddenly very well received.

In fact, Henderson had previously literally sketched out the Battlefield 6 announcement trailer, and these screenshots match the sequence posted by the leaker a few weeks ago. While we encourage skepticism of such leaks, the likelihood that these images are legitimate is definitely high.

These images would confirm previous leaks (again by Henderson) that "Battlefield 6" will be set about 10 years in the future. The game will focus on real-world technology, such as Boston Dynamics' mules (aka robot dogs), rather than futuristic equipment like jetpacks and laser weapons.

There are also rumors that "Battlefield 6" will skip the previous generation consoles and take full advantage of the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to persistent whispers on the Internet, it may be released on Xbox Game Pass. If Tom Henderson's information is correct, the name of the game may not be Battlefield 6.

All of this together tells us a great deal about a game that has yet to be officially announced, with the general manager of DICE even saying that it will be released "soon." So we won't have to wait too long before we can confirm that these leaked information is in fact correct.

In the meantime, if you really want to play Battlefield, Battlefield 5 will be available this month as a free game of the month on PlayStation Plus; Wreckfest and Stranded Deep will be offered as free games for May; and the game will be available as a free game of the month on PlayStation Plus.
