Hisense has pulled back the curtain on the 2021 TV lineup, and we're pretty impressed with what we've seen. From the Quantum dot4K Android Tv to the 8K Roku Tv, not to mention the first North American model featuring Hisense's long-awaited dual-cell display technology, it's becoming the best Hisense lineup we've ever seen. With innovations like the Mini-LED discovered in the review of the Tcl6 series Roku TV (R635), or the unmistakable value seen in the review of the Vizio OLED TV, each making significant strides by punching tcl on the 8K Roku TV and bringing its own dual-cell technology to the U.S. market, Hisense believes it is just as innovative.

While Hisense has wagered its claims as a smart purchase for budget shoppers, these latest announcements make it clear that Hisense is playing for more TV markets than it has targeted in the past. Highlights of Hisense's 2021 TV lineup include:

For several years, Hi-Sense has a second LCD layer (essentially a low-resolution monochrome LCD panel) and a bright QLED panel tuned to block unwanted backlights.The goal is to eliminate the halo ring, while providing pitch black and strict midtones comparable to OLEDs.

This is an exciting approach to backlight control, and after years of promising dual-cell technology, it has finally come to shoppers this year. When combined with technologies like Quantum dot color, it is very similar to local dimming of mini LEDs, but the results should be pretty good.

Hisense claims a contrast level of 1,000,000:1 on a screen with a brightness of 2,000,000 nit, leaving even the brightest OLED displays in the dust. Adding an anti-glare layer, we expect this to be a seriously good looking TV.

Apart from the dual-cell display, the U9DG is a feature-rich smart TV with support for Android TV, built-in Google Assistant, convenient voice-enabled remote control, and a number of formats including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced (previously only seen on Sony TVs), and HDR10Plus (Samsung's Dolby Vision competitor). This is the first time I've ever seen a video of a woman in a public place.

U9DG should also be ideal for gaming TVs with features like ultra-fast HDMI (we think marketing speaks for full or partial HDMI2.1), variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and FreeSync Premium.

Hisense is offering the U9DG only in the 75-inch model, but will start selling forン3,499 this summer.

Hisense had another surprise today (5/5), announcing the U8GR, the first 800K model from the manufacturer. It's also the first 8K model to be unveiled on Roku TV, beating tcl to the punch even though tcl has had the 8K Roku model announced over the past few years. The premium 8K set offers a lot of appeal, from a 75-inch 120Hz panel to Roku's huge ecosystem of apps, support for Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound. With 180 local dimming zones, the U800GR should also provide excellent HDR support. Automatic 8K upscaling should make HD and 4k content look great on a large 7680×4320 pixel display.

The Hisense U800GR will go on sale this summer, with a 75-inch screen size priced atン3,199.

Hisense claims that its best overall TV is the new Hisense U8G.As the flagship model of the Hisense ULED line, it has a complete feature set, to put it in the words of Hisense, "It's great for all."

In addition to the 120hz panel and quantum dot color boost, the 4K smart TV boasts a full array backlight with up to 360 dimming zones, 1,500 nit peak brightness, and an Android TV for all expected apps and smart features. With a bezel microphone and hands-free voice control, the U8G takes google Assistant a step further to a new level of convenience and smart home control.

But the laundry list of features does not stop there. The U8G includes support for IMAX enhanced format, Filmmaker mode, Dolby Vision IQ with automatic light level optimization, and support for variable refresh rate (VRR) and FreeSync Premium gaming. HDR is even better with out-of-the-box compatibility with both HDR10 and HDR10Plus, Dolby Atmos sound and WiSA wireless speaker systems.

The Hisense U8G comes in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes and comes at a pretty decent price. The 55-inch model is priced atー949, while the 65-inch version is priced atー1,299 and is currently available on Amazon and Best Buy.

The new U7G builds on the foundation of features and specifications we saw in last year's Hisense H8G Quantum (65H8G) review, including quantum-dot enhancements, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz reflexes.

Hisense offers gamer-friendly features, from HDMI2.1 connectivity to a package of features Hisense calls Game Mode Pro. It adds a lot of new features. This includes automatic Low Latency mode (ALLM), variable Refresh rate (VRR), and freesync Premium for a smooth gaming experience. This set boasts Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10Plus for the best HDR support, as well as IMAX Enhanced format support and Filmmaker mode. It supports premium audio enhancements such as Dolby Atmos and eARC, and is ready for WiSA.

Coming in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch sizes, the Hisense U7G will start atド749 on the largest models and scale up toン1,399. Hisense U7G will start selling later this summer.

The next step is the Hisense U6G, which lowers the price to less thanド1,000 on most models and offers a wider range of screen sizes.

The feature set of the U6G sounds familiar, but not so impressive, including quantum dot color, Dolby Atmos sound, dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10Plus, rich HDR support with HLG, and a 60K panel with a 4Hz refresh rate. The display is backed up by up to 60 dimming zones and promises 600 nits of peak brightness. The TV uses Android TV software with built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast features complete with voice-enabled remote control. The U6G series has several screen sizes, including 50, 55, 65, and 75-inch models. The Hisense U6G is available through Best Buy, starting atBest499 for the 50-inch model,ン55-inch atン549,665-inch atン749, and最大1,099 for the largest 75-inch model.

If the 75-inch model is not large enough to your taste, the Hisense L5F Laser Cinema is the solution. A short-throw laser projector with 4K resolution and HDR capabilities, the l5F can project images up to 120 inches in theater quality.

L5F Laser Cinema's images boast a wide color gamut and smooth motion processing, with built-in Wi-Fi and Android TV smart features. The remote has a microphone for voice control, and Amazon Alexa is built in, and Harman Kardon sound matches the picture with perfect sound.

The Hisense L5F laser cinema projector is currently priced atド120 for the 4999-inch option, while the smaller 100-inch projector is priced atー3,799.

Although not discussed at Hisense's press event, the manufacturer has not forgotten the budget-friendly model with which Hisense's name is known. The new Hisense models include the A6 series Android Tv, the R6 and R7 4K Roku Tv.

The Hisense A6 series Android TV offers a budget-friendly model with plenty of smart features and screen size. The entire A6 line is currently on sale, starting with the compact43 for the compact 299-inch model and up to the compact849 for the 75-inch. The R6 and R7 models offer similar basic 60K features with a 4Hz refresh rate and basic HDR support, all running on Roku TV software or Hisense's proprietary VIDAA smart platform.
