OnePlus' first wearable product, the OnePlus Watch, received less than favorable reviews from some publications. One of the main complaints was the lack of an always-on display (AOD) on the watch; OnePlus appears to be working on this issue.

A few weeks ago, OnePlus informed us that they would fix these issues in a future update, and now they have. Several users have reported receiving updates that add AOD, camera remote functionality, and other housekeeping.

Our own Kate Kozuch really liked the OnePlus Watch in her review. She praised the performance and battery life; the $159 price tag is an impulse buy for many people for a wearable device; the OnePlus Watch punches above its weight and succeeds in a number of areas; and it's a great value for money.

Other reviewers were less satisfied with the performance, citing inadequate calculations and a less-than-ideal UI.

AOD should have been included from the start, which is not too surprising given that OnePlus did not include an AOD option on its phones until very recently.

However, some of the watch's weaknesses are addressed in this update. In addition, a marathon workout mode has been added to the already numerous registered workout modes.

However, OnePlus emphasizes that AOD has a significant impact on battery life. This is because the time before a charge is needed may be reduced by half. AOD on the watch is not a problem, but if you want to get the most out of your watch, it is recommended that you turn it off.
