Battlefield 6 May Obviously be delayed – Here's why

We've been hearing for months that "Battlefield 6" would be officially announced in early May, but it will be a little while before we get our first proper look at the next installment in the popular shooter series.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, "Battlefield 6" was originally scheduled for release in early May. He obtained this information in March of this year, which is consistent with information obtained from other leakers. However, the situation appears to have changed, and the release may now be pushed back to the end of this month, or even June.

The general manager of DICE, the developer of the Battlefield series, had previously told fans to "get ready" for a public release soon, but it appears that soon may be a little further away than first expected. Jeff Grubb has suggested that the reveal may be pushed back to June, and the unveiling of "Battlefield 6" may even be carried over to EA Play, EA's annual showcase that is usually held around the same time as E3 (June 12-15 this year).

The exact reason for the postponement of the unveiling is currently unknown, but well-connected leaker Tom Henderson speculates that it may have something to do with the Chinese rocket incident that occurred last week.

According to Henderson, the trailer includes a scene of a rocket exploding and showering soldiers with debris, which is rather similar to what could have happened had the rocket not landed in the Indian Ocean over the weekend.

This is of course only hypothetical, but it makes sense that DICE would want to distance the fictional events of "Battlefield 6" from the real-life incidents that have already generated so much controversy. This would not be the first time that a piece of video game media has been postponed because of its close resemblance to an ongoing global incident.

We may have to wait a bit longer to see the full announcement trailer, but thanks to the leaked screenshots, we've already been given a sneak peak. Not to mention a number of other leaks that suggest a slightly more futuristic setting for the game and a new battle royale mode.

"Battlefield 6" is expected to be released later this year and will no doubt be available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. According to another rumor, the game will not be released on last-gen consoles, meaning gamers playing on PS4 and Xbox One will be left out of the game.

In order not to miss out on the massive multiplayer mayhem that only "Battlefield" can offer, you may need to consider upgrading to a next-gen console. Fortunately, the PS5 Restocking Guide and Xbox Series X Restocking Guide will help you get your console before the game launches this fall.
