Starfield is shrouded in mystery and rumors abound. Nevertheless, recent leaks suggest that Microsoft may announce a release date later this year.

One of the leaks in question revealed what looks like concept art for Bethesda's upcoming sci-fi game, with many fans arguing over the design of the spaceship and smartwatch. There is also speculation surrounding the alleged ad buys for the game, which is listed as 2021, which also suggests an earlier release date. [The leaked concept art was initially found on the Starfield Reddit page, but the post was removed shortly thereafter. At that point, however, the user had already shared the image on Twitter, and the image spread across the Internet.

The photo shows what appears to be sketches of several assets that will likely appear in the upcoming game, including a clock, a spaceship, and a solar system design. However, it is unclear whether these designs were leaked from a reliable inside source or are merely mock-ups. Fans have already offered theories as to what this design means for the game.

Earlier, rumors surfaced surrounding an alleged ad buy that was first mentioned by Sikamikanico, Speshal Ed, and Colt Eastwood on the Xbox Era podcast. Speshal Ed claims that Microsoft is planning to release a 2021 distribution of " He claims to have purchased advertising time for "Starfield" and speculates that the game may be close to release.

This is not the first time we have heard about a 2021 release date. Bethesda has reportedly filed a new copyright reservation for "Starfield," and we have seen reports that the date appears to be 2021.

Other than a short teaser for the game, Bethesda has not shared or confirmed anything since the initial announcement. However, there are plenty of other rumors surrounding the big game that cannot be ignored. But then again, the studio is known for not revealing many details before an official announcement.

We have previously seen rumors that "Starfield" is an Xbox exclusive and that it will be included in the acclaimed Xbox Game Pass. Not long ago, another podcast host, Rand Al Soh, had this to say I've heard from very reliable people that 'Starfield' is 100% Xbox exclusive. And I've also heard that Microsoft is working hard to get the game released this holiday season."

This is not a big surprise since Bethesda was recently acquired by Microsoft following its acquisition of ZeniMax Media.

The leaker also speculates that the studio apparently has already finished the game: "The game is basically finished. The game is basically finished. We're in a bug squashing mode right now, like Halo Infinite, QA kind of thing. If we can get both Halo and Starfield out this fall, it would be a huge benefit to Game Pass and Xbox."
