Battlefield 6 Trailer Officially Revealed Teased for 6 May

After an industry insider claimed earlier this week that the release of Battlefield 6 had been delayed, the official Battlefield Twitter account gave us a clear indication of when the game will finally be first released. Battlefield fans should mark their calendars for June.

Originally, Battlefield 6 was supposed to be released in early May, but it appears that developer DICE has pushed back the schedule by about a month. The reason for this postponement has not yet been confirmed, but parallels between the game's debut trailer and the Chinese rocket incident have been suggested as a potential reason by many leaker Tom Henderson.

Thanks to a not-so-obscure tweet from the official Battlefield account announcing that both "soon" and "June" rhyme, we know something is coming in June. Not that it is a difficult clue to decipher. The tweet also notes that the word "boom" rhymes even more, so could we be in for a rather explosive announcement next month?

What is almost certain is that something Battlefield 6-related will finally be announced in June. This could be a cinematic reveal trailer, which could confirm the rumored slightly futuristic setting of the game. Or it could be a demo full of game footage, giving us a proper look at the multiplayer shooter in action.

EA (publisher of the "Battlefield" series) usually holds its annual EA Play showcase around the same time as E3, this year scheduled for June 11-15, and while the 2021 edition of EA Play is not yet technically confirmed, this live event Battlefield 6" will be unveiled to the world, it seems certain.

While there is currently little confirmed information about the next "Battlefield" other than that it will be released this year and that it is designed for next-generation hardware, leakers have provided some material for fans to chew on while waiting for official news.

These leaks include DICE's return to the battle royale mode that disappointed with "Firestorm" in Battlefield 5 and a "revolutionary" single-player campaign. There are reports that the game will skip PS4 and Xbox One and focus solely on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

The good news is that we don't have to wait very long to find out if these online whispers are true. Nevertheless, you will probably want a next-generation console before the game launches this fall. Thankfully, our PS5 Restocking Guide and Xbox Series X Restocking Guide can help you get through the inventory shortages and get your hands on a shiny new console.
