It is very difficult to actually buy the current generation of graphics cards, yet AMD and Nvidia have not hesitated to repeatedly announce new ones. According to new leaks, the next big GPUs to be released by the Red Team will be the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6600.

Videocardz posted GPU-Z screenshots from the Chinese technology forum Chipwell showing various specs of the Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6600.

While we were unable to independently verify the authenticity of these screenshots, the details included are consistent with what we have previously heard about the upcoming budget cards. For example, both the Radeon RX 6600 XT and Radeon RX 6600 are listed as having 8GB of GDDR6 video RAM, consistent with what our sister site Tom's Hardware reported earlier this week.

It also appears that both cards will feature the new AMD Navi 23 GPU, as previously reported; GPU-Z screenshots show that the Radeon RX 6600 XT will feature the Navi 23, named "73FF:C1," while the Radeon RX 6600 will feature the lower The Radeon RX 6600 XT will be equipped with a Navi 23 named "73FF:C7" and the Radeon RX 6600 will have a lower spec "73FF:C7". [Clock speeds for the latter are not recorded, but the Radeon RX 6600 XT is said to have a base clock of 1,692 MHz and a boost clock of 2,684 MHz. In contrast, the mid-range AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT has a lower maximum boost clock of 2,581 MHz, but a much higher base clock of 2,31 MHz. These two newer cards also have lower processor stream counts (in other words, core counts): 2,048 for the Radeon RX 6600 XT and 1,792 for the Radeon RX 6600.

There also appears to be at least a laptop version of the RX 6600. The leaker claims to be using AMD's Radeon driver version 21.4.1, which includes support for the RX 6600M.

Current estimates put the Radeon RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 release dates in the second half of this year, and one theory is that AMD may announce new graphics cards during Computex 2021, which runs from June 1 to June 5. In that case, don't expect huge or even half-full amounts of available inventory, as there will be no escape from the semiconductor shortage that is currently straining GPU supply.
