The Xbox Game Pass has already seen the release of several hot titles this year, but "Mass Effect: Legendary Edition" is not one of them.

Gamers can return to Normandy with the release of the remastered versions of the original "Mass Effect" trilogy. Those fortunate enough to have never experienced these classic sci-fi RPGs will also have the opportunity to become familiar with the series' beloved characters. However, if you play the game on the Xbox, you will need to purchase the game separately, just as you would on the PlayStation or PC.

Confusingly, the game is offered as part of EA Play Pro, a premium subscription service that costs $15 per month and allows you to play in a vault of already released titles, as well as new EA games when they are released. Xbox Game Pass includes the regular EA Play membership, but Pro is PC-only.

An EA Community manager cleared up a misunderstanding on the publisher's forums, saying: "'Mass Effect' Legendary Edition is only available with EA Play Pro, not the regular EA Play membership. [It's not all bad news for "Mass Effect" fans who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, as they can also get this discount if they are EA Play members on PlayStation. The original "Mass Effect" trilogy and the somewhat lackluster "Mass Effect Andromeda" are also available on Xbox: Andromeda is also available now on Xbox Game Pass.

Furthermore, it is possible that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will eventually appear on regular EA Play (i.e., Xbox Game Pass). As to whether this will happen, an EA staff member responded: "It's certainly a possibility, but we're not aware of any plans or timeframes beyond access to EA Play Pro at this time."
