Battlefield 6 Leaked images may have confirmed the name of the game

It seems like there is a Battlefield 6 leak every week, but this one is arguably the biggest so far.

Several screenshots from the upcoming announcement trailer have leaked online, confirming several rumors about the sixth installment of the main shooter. Among the information confirmed in these images is the setting of the game and the fact that it is not actually called Battlefield 6.

These are not the first leaked images of Battlefield 6, and the screenshots have a humorous (if very annoying) watermark. However, it is clear from these images that the game will have a modern/slightly futuristic setting, and this detail has been heavily hinted at for several weeks.

Additionally, one of the screenshots appears to be the splash screen at the end of the trailer, which seems to confirm the rumor that the numbers will be removed from the game's title and it will instead be called simply "Battlefield." This probably indicates that the game is considered something of a soft reboot of the franchise, which would be welcome given the lackluster response to "Battlefield V." He also took to Twitter to confirm that these screenshots are not an elaborate hoax.

Henderson has a solid track record, but we won't know if these images are real until the trailer is officially released. According to Battlefield's social media accounts, that should happen next month, with a less cryptic tweet teasing a June release.

EA Play, the publisher's annual live event to showcase upcoming titles, will also return in 2021. The show is scheduled for July 22, where it would be reasonable to expect further details about Battlefield 6, or rather Battlefield. A full gameplay presentation seems very likely, and possibly even a release date.

While there is nothing technically official about "Battlefield 6" other than its existence and the fact that it is likely to be released this year, many interesting tidbits about the game have been leaked. These include the fact that it is a cross-generational game that will be released on both PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X, and that it may feature a "revolutionary" single player mode.

An executive from developer DICE said that Battlefield 6 will "take full advantage of next-gen consoles and PCs. If you haven't picked up a next-gen console yet, check out the PS5 restocking info and Xbox Series X restocking hub.
