Battlefield 2042 Beta comes on 10/8 - you can get early access [Update]

The beta version of Battlefield 2042, leaked earlier today, will be released on October 8, the game developer DICE announced.

Promotional images found on Bilbili show various Battlefield 2042 events scheduled to take place on the platform between October 6 and 9. This suggested that the Battlefield 2042 beta would begin next Thursday. However, Dice has now confirmed the actual beta start date, revealing that early access will begin on October 6 for those who pre-order "Battlefield 2042."

Early access to the "Battlefield 2042" beta will be available no matter which platform you pre-order the game on. However, developer Dice has confirmed that there will be a phase of the beta open to everyone, giving players who are not convinced by the game a chance to play it before deciding to purchase it.

The "Battlefield 2042" beta was originally scheduled to begin in September, but appears to have been pushed back due to the release date of the full game being pushed back from the original October 22 date to the current November 19 date. Dice cited development difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for the one-month delay of the game.

Curiously, there has been little movement on the next Battlefield game; a technical alpha of Battlefield 2042 took place over the summer, but was held behind closed doors, so participants were unable to share footage. Thankfully, this beta will allow people to get a taste of the game ahead of its launch.

There's a lot to see in "Battlefield 2042," but given its next-gen-exclusive features, including 128-player online play, it already looks like the game will be worth looking for a PS5 restock or Xbox Series X restock.
