Target PS5 re-stock sold out - here's where to check the following inventory

Update: Target PS5 restocking has ended, check the PS5 restocking hub for updates on PS5 restocking and which retailers to check next for stock.

Target is now stocking the PS5. The big red retailer last did not accept fresh orders for Sony's in-demand next-generation console on September 10, but this long restocking drought is now over as the retailer is now holding drops.

YouTuber and full-time PS5 inventory tracker Jake Randall was the first to tell us that Target has built up enough inventory to restock. According to Randall's sources, most stores across the country have about 20 PS5s in stock, enough for restocking.

Jake Randall has proven to be a very reliable source for PS5 restocking information in the past. He has previously contacted multiple Targets in advance of restocking, and his sources at retailers are clearly very reliable. He states that the PS5 at Target could restock as early as tomorrow (September 30), but that based on past evidence, Thursday or Friday seems to be the most likely date.

While Randall's Target source is obviously reliable, nothing should be taken as fact unless it comes directly from the retailer. The likelihood that Target will restock this weekend seems to be based on all the evidence, but for now, this should still be taken as speculation.

If you are still trying to secure a PS5, be sure to bookmark the PS5 Restocking Hub. This guide contains the latest restocking information, as well as any rumors or possible leaks. While this won't guarantee you a PS5, it will make the task of getting your hands on Sony's popular gaming console a little easier.

First, make sure you have an account set up with your payment and address details saved. This is an essential step if you want to secure your PS5 when it is restocked. Stocking the basket is only half the battle; you don't want the console to sell out while you are entering the details. Make sure everything is saved so you can check out in seconds.

Target is known for releasing inventory in waves, usually releasing the regular PS5 first, followed by a restock of the PS5 digital version. Therefore, even if the PS5 is already sold out at the retailer, it is worth sparing the time to go after the second wave.

Jake Randall also recommends using alternative payment methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay, and RedCard if possible. The advantage of these is that using another payment portal avoids Target's own servers, which have collapsed under the burden of trying to secure the order confirmation emails that thousands of people have coveted in the past.

Target also has an app that can be used to secure PS5. A good trick is to try to check out the restock on both your desktop and mobile device. Once you are able to add the PS5 to your cart on one, we recommend switching to the other to complete the checkout process. As long as you are logged in, the contents of your cart will be recorded.

Finally, during checkout, if your local store is sold out, you can edit your location and select a store that has PS5 in stock. Occasionally, this will prevent the checkout process from proceeding, but if you experience this issue, clear your browser cookies and try again.
