We know that Microsoft has big plans for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S over the next few years. And that's before we get to the games that are very likely to be Bethesda exclusives, such as "Starfield," "The Elder Scrolls 6," and the charming sounding "Indiana Jones."

However, one insider "conservatively lowballs" that this is just the tip of the iceberg of what Microsoft plans to offer in the coming years, with only about a third of Microsoft's first-party games in development having been officially announced.

Jez Corden of Windows Central made this claim on The Xbox Two podcast. The relevant part, as transcribed by Pure Xbox, was when Corden was asked about Microsoft's future game roadmap and how much has been revealed.

"Some of the games I know about, some I don't. ...... As a rough estimate, and this is a conservative and low estimate, I'd say about a third of the games being announced right now from Xbox Game Studios.

Corden explains that this is a low estimate because he doesn't know "what Bethesda is working on in general," nor does he know about the rumored Hideo Kojima title.

However, while this figure may be conservative, it may also be optimistic due to the nature of video game development. As Corden added, "many of these games may be cancelled." After all, there is a reason why companies do not announce everything they are working on at any given time.

Overall, however, he is upbeat: "But I don't think they will, the information I got ... To me it sounds like these things are happening, so who knows. I'm very excited about my future right now, I'm very excited about my future. I'm very excited."

Currently, there are 23 organizations that make up Microsoft Game Studios, eight of which are subsidiaries of Bethesda; for a variety of reasons, including DLC, co-productions, and other projects, there are no guarantees, but if each studio were working on a new game, and if each title were in production Assuming a cycle of 3-4 years for each title, this would mean that as many as 5-6 first party games could be released per year.

Of course, some will take longer, some less, but it is certainly possible that the Xbox Series X and S could be flooded with exclusive titles over the next few years. Microsoft now claims that all first-party titles will be made available to play as part of a Game Pass subscription, so it will be well worth seeking out the Xbox Series X inventory when it becomes available.
