Sony Direct PS5 Replenishment Sold Out - Where to find the Next Stock

Update: Sony has sold out of PS5 consoles. Please see the PS5 restocking hub for the latest inventory information. Also, check out our Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale info.

PS5 restocking has returned to Sony Direct. The console maker is now offering PS5 consoles to those who received an invitation via email. If you did not receive an invitation, Sony's registration page is still live and accepting registrations. It's worth registering as there may be further price reductions in the coming weeks as we move into the Black Friday sales season.

News of this latest Sony Direct restocking surfaced yesterday when Sony began sending out email invitations. These emails were posted on Twitter. Those who signed up for an invite are encouraged to check their email accounts as they may have been selected.

Today's invite-only PS5 restock is scheduled to last until 7 p.m. EST, or as soon as stock runs out; given the overwhelming demand for the PS5, it seems certain that this restock will not last into the evening.

Restocking for the general public could follow the initial invite-only drop. If there is a restocking for the general public, it will most likely take place around 5:00 PM EST, but there have been many times when Sony Direct restocks have been completely closed. If a public drop does occur, you can get the PS5 for $499 from this link or the PS5 Digital for $399 from this link.

Now that the PS5 Black Friday specials are here and PS5 games and accessories have been reduced in price, expect to see PS5 restocks at many major retailers; bookmark the PS5 Restock Hub to be notified as updates come in.

Occasionally, Sony Direct will do restocking for invite-only customers. (Invitations will be sent via email). Sony recently opened registration for these events to the public. This means that anyone can now sign up for the invite-only Sony Direct PS5 restocking events.

Activate your Sony Direct account and set your notifications to Yes. Creating a Sony Direct account is easy: you can sign up at this link. Once your account is set up, add your address and billing information. Registering this information will help you add the PS5 unit to your cart.

To turn on notifications from Sony Direct, you must sign in to your account, click on "My Profile" and then click the "Edit" button from your profile page. You will be redirected to a new account settings page. On that page, select "notifications" from the left column and opt-in to receive news and special offers from Sony.

Keep in mind that this method does not guarantee that you will receive your invitation in time for the next PS5 drop.

Typically, Sony tends to open the virtual queue to the public after an invite-only PS5 restock. However, this is not always guaranteed, as there have been instances where retailers have completely sold out.

If there is a surplus of consoles, restocking for the public will most likely take place after the invitation-only event is over. (Of course, you can bookmark this page to be kept informed of the latest PS5 restocking information from Sony Direct and major US retailers.

Once in the virtual queue, an estimated wait time is displayed. All wait times will vary, and you will most likely receive a message saying that it will take more than an hour. If this is the case, do not despair. Your status may change rapidly and you may end up with a shorter wait than expected. (For example, after waiting 20 minutes for a previous PS5 restocking event, the wait was reduced from "over an hour" to just 15 minutes.)

Additionally, captchas may have to be solved. This is a simple challenge/question to verify that you are not a bot, usually requiring you to select a radio box. For this reason, it is a good idea to have a prominent browser tab. Otherwise, you may miss the captcha challenge and end up out of the queue.
