Can't find Nvidia RTX3070restock? AMD's new 1440P GPU could be the answer

Finding a place to buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 is a nightmare. But AMD may have a solution with its new Radeon RX6700 0XT, a 1440p rival graphics card.

With 12GB of GDDR6 video memory and the promise of twice the performance of previous-generation graphics cards, the Radeon RX 6700 XT is poised to battle the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. In particular, the RX 6700 costs $479, which is less than the $499 RTX 3070.

The RX 6700 XT uses the same RDNA 2 GPU architecture found in the more powerful Radeon RX 6900, RX 6800 XT, and RX 6800 graphics cards, but targets the mid-range market, according to AMD's own benchmarks, RX 6700 delivers well over 60 frames per second at 1440p resolution in games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Team Red also showed off how the Radeon RX 6700 XT outperforms Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 Super; Nvidia's choice of the card as a comparison means that AMD is using the RX 6700 as an alternative to the RTX 30 series cards due to lack of availability, suggesting that AMD sees the RX 6700 as a good alternative for GeForce RTX owners who cannot find RTX 30 series cards.

However, the RX 6700 XT also performs competitively with the RTX 3070, often outperforming the RTX 3070 in AMD benchmarks or only slightly behind in games like Gears 5. How well the RX 6700 XT performs outside AMD's labs We need to see independent testing to assess how well it holds up, but it looks like a very promising 1440p gaming graphics card.

The RX 6700 XT is also packed with AMD's latest technologies, including a 96MB Infinity Cache for increased graphics bandwidth, ray tracing support, Radeon Anti-Lag technology, and Smart Access Memory. This basically allows AMD Ryzen processors like the AMD Ryzen 5000 series to better access the memory of Radeon GPUs.

In short, the Radeon RX 6700 XT is firmly establishing itself as a 1440p gaming performer and a graphics card with frame rates exceeding 160 fps on 1080p esports titles.

Scheduled for release on March 18, it remains to be seen if AMD can entice people to choose the Radeon RX 6700 XT over the GeForce RTX 3070. More importantly, however, it will be much easier to buy than existing graphics cards in the Radeon 6000 series and GeForce RTX 30 series.

The same goes for machines using AMD's RDNA 2 technology, especially the new gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft; finding a PS5 restock update quickly is very difficult, and finding a place to buy an Xbox Series X is very difficult at the moment.
