PS5DualSense controller crush DualShock4 - Here's the reason

Sony this week announced a radical new controller for the PS5, the DualSense. However, Bethesda's head of marketing directly told us that the DualSense is a significant upgrade to the PS4 controller.

Shortly after the official announcement of the DualSense, Bethesda's senior vice president of marketing and communications, Pete Hines, tweeted out a huge praise for Sony's new gamepad.

Hines specifically mentioned the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The adaptive trigger also allows developers to fine-tune the resistance of the shoulder buttons to recreate the sensation of, for example, releasing a bow and arrow or firing a gun.

Asked to compare the DualSense to the PS4's DualShock 4, Hines replied, "It's no match."

Hines, who leads marketing for top titles like "Fallout," "Doom," and "The Elder Scrolls," wrote, "I quickly forget about the PS4 controller. I've gone back and forth between the two, but soon find myself wanting to use the PS5."

Such public praise bodes well for the PS5 dual-sense controller. Some people think it's ugly, others think it's fresh. The Internet is already flooded with alternate color concept designs and DualSense memes, so no matter how you feel about this controller, Sony has managed to get people talking.

In addition to the aforementioned haptics and adaptive triggers, DualSense also features a built-in microphone for chatting with friends, a revamped touch bar with more prominent lighting effects, and a new "Create" button that replaces the share button for creating and uploading game clips button for creating and uploading game clips.

The next Xbox Series X controller is a fairly modest upgrade in comparison, adding a textured grip, an improved D-pad, and a new share button to the design familiar from the Xbox One era.

More should be revealed about the DualSense, and about the PS5 itself, as we get closer to the PlayStation 5's launch in the holiday 2020 season.
